Conclusions. We have shown that a transition from irreversible to reversible sodium storage in state-of-the-art Na-ion batteries is possible via doping the hard carbon anodes with sulfur. For this we have developed a doping technique based in CVD that effectively incorporates sulfur into the hard carbon microstructure.
